Concert with music from Anton Webern
Come to Nykirken to enjoy the Austrian composer Anton Webern.
This evening is dedicated to Anton Webern, the Austrian composer known as the master of silence. His finely crafted, precise compositions are charged with weight, despite the sparse use of notes. As in a museum, where each object is deliberately placed and carefully curated, Webern's selected tones are weighted and considered, while everything superfluous is stripped away.
In a time when we are invaded by sound and impressions, the church space has gained a new appeal, and BIT20 Ensemble wishes to invite you to an introspective experience in Nykirken. Allow yourself a break and step into a space for reflection and great art.
Fanboy Artistic leader and conductor for the evening, Bjarni Frímann, is perhaps Webern's biggest fanboy, and in his bedroom stood a framed picture of the composer on the nightstand. Lean back this Tuesday evening while Bjarni tells you why Webern is so special.
On the church floor stands a full ensemble – ready to make you too a fanboy or fangirl.
