Film screening of Dragon Inn (1967)

“Dragon Inn” by King Hu takes place in 1457 China. After executing The Minister of
Defence, his children are exiled by the order of the tyrannical Tsao (Ying Bai). They
shelter by the Dragon Inn, but little do they know that Tsao has ordered his men to
kill them. However on their way to the Dragon Inn, a brave group of swordsmen
(Shih Chun, Polly Shang-Kuan Ling-Feng, Han Hsieh) could change the course of
history.

“Dragon Inn” is considered one of the greatest and most important films within wuxia.
A gold standard in many ways. With incredible choreography and practical stunts, it
is a must watch for any film lovers of old Hong Kong cinema. Also solidifying its
importance within cinema with its inclusion on Tsai Ming-liang’s “Goodbye, Dragon
Inn” (2003). Having two of the leads (Shih Chun, Miao Tian) from “Dragon Inn”
playing themselves 36 years after its release.
