ELLE MAIJA – debut album “Mátki”

In late February, Sámi artist ELLE MAIJA releases her long-awaited debut
album Mátki – an album that holds both musical and personal journeys. In
March, she embarks on an album release tour with a full band, presenting
the material live on stage.
Mátki means journey in Northern Sámi, and reflects both Elle Maija’s
artistic development and a long creative process. From once hiding behind
the guitar – not daring to sing or joik – she now steps forward as a solo
artist with original songs where joik takes a central role. The album moves
through various genres and expressions, creating a universe where
modern sounds meet tradition. The journey toward the debut album has
finally reached its destination – ready to be shared with the audience.
