Echo – Student society at Informatics, UiB

Echo is a social and professional link between the students and the management at the Department of Informatics, UiB.

The student society works to improve the social environment for the students, as well as talk about academic matters. It is also a link between the students and other student political organisations at the University of Bergen.

Echo consists of 12 democratically elected students. We are the faculty’s student society for Informatics at the University of Bergen, but also have overall responsibility for student affairs that concern the academics at the institute. We work exclusively to make the study life better for students and to be the students' voice within the institute, the faculty and the industry.

We regularly organise both academic and social events for our students. Examples of social events are holiday start and exam parties, quizzes, poker tournaments, code nights, game nights and not least of all echoLAN one weekend every holiday. Crash courses, workshops and informatics evenings are some of the professional arrangements we hold. In addition to all this, we also have business presentations, where businesses come and present themselves and often take us out for free food and drinks afterwards!
