Effective Altruism UiB
Effective altruism revolves around using critical thinking and evidence to find the most effective ways to do good
How can you increase your positive impact in the world?
Effective Altruism UiB aims to empower students in Bergen to contribute to a positive change in the world. We do this by providing you with the knowledge, motivation and network to do good trough your career-choices, volunteering, donating later in life or in other ways. With us you can learn about a diverse selection of global issues that are most pressing in today's world, like: extreme poverty, animal welfare, climate change, pandemics, safe technological development, ans safe-guarding the long-term future.
As a student organisation, we also aim to be a social gathering place for people who want to do good in the world. Are you looking to meet other (international) people who have a strong drive to improve the world, but are critical of how to this in an effective way? Then this might be the place for you! Throughout the semester, we arrange introductory courses, career workshops, book clubs, project work, discussion meetings and conference visits; as well as social gatherings and cabin trips. All our events are in English.
