International Commission of Jurists

The association belongs to ICJ-Norge, which is the Norwegian branch of the international organization International Commission of Jurists.

The purpose of the association is to work in accordance with the mandate of the International Commission of Laws at and outside the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen.

It involves efforts to promote and protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law, including strengthening the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals and vulnerable groups and promoting the independence of the judiciary, the prosecution and the legal profession and the implementation of binding international standards by all states.

As a member of the ICJ-studentnettverk Bergen, you get the opportunity to focus on current issues, through article writing and organizing events, seminars and debates.
