Mørkerommet Fotokollektiv

"Mørkerommet" is a photography collective and a student organization that practices analog photography and black-and-white darkroom development.

Mørkerommet (established 2016) is a photo collective and a student organization that practices analog photography, develop and process black-and-white photographic film and make prints in our darkroom.

We are young photographers between the age of 20 and 30. Our studio is at the attic of Sydneshaugen school at the University of Bergen. Mørkerommets photographs can be found in magazines such as Bøygen, Prosopopeia, and Replikk. Biannually our art and photography-magazine Sjå magasin is published. In addition, we take pictures at cultural events in Bergen, and collaborate with Prøverommet. The organization is run as a student organization with benefits from Velferdstinget.

Mørkerommet wishes to function as a platform where young photographers can have their photographs printed or exhibited. Mørkerommet is an open offer for students who want to learn analog photography and darkroom techniques. The most important aspect is a genuine interest in photography and a desire to learn - one does not need any experience beforehand. We host social and cultural events that all our members are very welcome to attend.
