Norsk Start Bergen

Norsk Start in Bergen is an integration organisation where students arrange conversation meetings/language cafés.

Norsk Start is a voluntary student society that works for the inclusion of immigrants and of people with a refugee background. The organisation already exists in Trondheim and Oslo. Our purpose is to create an arena where Norwegian-speaking students and participants (refugees and asylum seekers) can meet. In this way, we hope to be able to contribute to cultural understanding, language improvement and new friendships. This takes place through weekly conversation meetings between Norwegian-speaking students and those who want to practice Norwegian in a social setting. Participants get a great opportunity to practice their Norwegian skills, which makes it easier to be included in the Norwegian society.

What will be unique about Norsk Start is that it is run by students. The offer will therefore be particularly relevant for peers/young refugees and immigrants to form friendships, as well as talk about common interests and what it is like to be a young person/student in Norway. Participants in their 20s/student age are therefore our target group, but the offer will of course be open to anyone who wants to participate.

Who can join?
