Sankta Sunniva Kammerkor

Sankta Sunniva Kammerkor – a choir for young singers who enjoy classical choral singing. 

Sankta Sunniva Kammerkor, StaS, was started in 2002 and is a choir for young singers who want to develop as ensemble singers. StaS is conducted by Tore Kloster and consists of approximately 30 singers, most of whom are between 18 and 26 years old. 

We sing good, classical choral music, with a focus on music from the Renaissance and Baroque in addition to music from the 20th and 21st centuries. We also do folk music every now and then. The choir sings both secular music and church music and is connected to the Bergen Cathedral congregation. 

The choir usually has three concert projects each year, often with several concerts in the same project with the same programme. About every second summer, the choir goes on a longer trip abroad where we rehearse, hold concerts and have a good time. 

The choir has a good social environment, and we like to refer to ourselves as Bergen's cosiest choir. The members are mainly pupils and students, but some are also working. 

It is common for the members to have some singing experience, but it is possible to audition for StaS if you have no singing background. We usually take in new members at the start of the semester in August and January. In spring 2024, it will also be possible to audition June 12th and 19th after the house concerts in St. John's Church.

Choir Practice

We practice in St. John's Church on Mondays at 18:30–21:00.
